I post! I know, crazy.
Life is busy lately. I find when I have something that might be worth blogging about here that I quickly find I'd rather take that precious, precious time and use it another way. Say, sleeping, for example.
So what's new? The item of note: I was diagnosed with
Central Serous Retinopathy in my right eye earlier this week. Fluid has collected behind my retina, creating a something like a blister. In my eye. Under the retina. It's right in the center of my vision, so it's not exactly something I can ignore, or not notice. The result is an odd shaped distortion in my vision (metamorphopsia). It's something like trying to look through a drop of water. In my case this 'drop' is also reducing color in the affected area (chromatopsia). And I believe I'm experiencing more frequent headaches due to eye-strain (it's almost impossible for me to read with that eye, and I sit in front of a display just about every day).
I've been experiencing the effects for about a week and a half now, and it's slowly getting worse, which the Eye doc said could happen. There is no treatment. Good news for me is that the majority of the time CSR resolves on its own in several weeks. I certainly hope so.
On otherwise unrelated fronts:
Work is work - good, busy, and new things are coming down the pipe. There's never a dearth of problems to solve.
Cam is great. He's growing incredibly fast, and most of the time he's a happy kid. How is that not great? =)
Home is home - borrowed some Wii games from Mike recently, and have been playing quite a bit of Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 again. I completely replaced my PC gaming controllers when my Logitech mouse began to fail (MX700, you were a faithful companion and I'll miss thee). Running with a new Logitech G5, a Razer eXactMat mouse 'plate' (no joke - it's a piece of anodized aluminum with a "speed" side and a "control" side. It's kinda crazy), and a Merc Stealth gaming keyboard. All good stuff, and all taking some getting used to.
And that's what I have today. We're fine, we're all fine, here, now, thank you. How are you?
